Consultation
There is an increasing demand for Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists to offer consultation to agencies, organisations and professionals who require close analysis of particular problematic areas of their work.
A psychoanalytic perspective can helpfully elucidate particular problems and provide a framework within which difficulties can be thought about, and through which, meaning is derived. Consultation provides an important function of containment to individuals and organisations where anxieties, worries and concerns about individual clients, groups of clients or dynamics within the organisation affecting the quality of service provision.
It is sometimes helpful to engage the services of a consultant for a short series of meetings to address a particular issue or set of issues. Alternatively, an organisation or a particular team within an organisation may want to have regular, ongoing consultation to support their work.
The staff of the Northern School will do their best to respond to requests for support of this kind, or to advise as to alternative resources. Please contact Lynda Ellis.
