Psychodynamic Approaches to Working with Adolescents
Validated by the Tavistock and Portman Foundation NHS Trust with the University of East London
This is the only programme of its type in the north of England to provide training opportunities for professionals working directly with adolescents and young people.
The programme is specifically designed for those whose main interest or workload consists of work with young people. It covers the adolescent developmental process from a broad psychoanalytic perspective as well as taking into account biological and social influences on development. The programme provides an introduction to the problems and disturbances of adolescence.
Adolescents pose a challenge to all who work with them. This programme explores ways of working with young people and offering an effective service for them.
Our postgraduate level course is aimed at those working with adolescents across a range of settings. It can be taken as a 1 year PG Certificate, 2 year PG Diploma or continued to Masters level.
