The Northern School of Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy in collaboration with Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to host this half day CPD Study Event. This half day event provides an opportunity to engage with the complexities of racism from the intensity of the consulting room, the interactive spaces of group relationships and through the prism of psychoanalytic writing and contemporary public discourse.
Fakhry Davids, (Fellow, Institute of Psychoanalysis, Training Analyst), author of ‘Internal Racism: a psychoanalytic approach to race and difference’, (2011), Palgrave Macmillan, will discuss racism within the clinical arena
Julia Fabricius, (Fellow, Institute of Psychoanalysis, Training Analyst, Child Analyst), will present a paper in response. This will be followed by opportunities for discussion.
The event will be chaired by Simon Cregeen, (Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist) and is particularly relevant for Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists, Adult Psychotherapists, Psychoanalysts, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists, Psychodynamic Psychotherapists and other interested mental health professionals.
