Research Grant Awarded

Dr. Elizabeth Edginton, Research & Development Lead for NSCAP, has just been awarded NIHR FSF funding through Leeds Partnerships NHS Foundation Trust to conduct a scoping study on trans-generational trauma in four or five CAMHS in Yorkshire and The Humber.

The aim of the study is to collect data on the number of children being referred to CAMHS for more specialist treatment where trans-generational trauma may be leading to difficulties that haven't been addressed through standard parent-training programmes.  At the same time we will also work to develop a prototype manual for parent-child psychotherapy in preparation for an NIHR bid in September 2012 in collaboration with the School of Medicine at the University of Leeds. The long-term aim is to conduct a randomised control trial of parent-child psychotherapy.
